February 6, 2024 – Revered supergroup The Immediate Family composed of guitarists/singers/songwriters Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel and Steve Postell, and the renowned rhythm section of drummer Russ Kunkel and bassist Leland Sklar —announces a series of February tour dates in support of their much-anticipated upcoming album Skin in the Game, out on February 16 via Quarto Valley Records. This month's shows will feature guest guitarist Elliot Easton, a friend of the band and key member of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Cars, who will be filling in for Waddy Wachtel while he serves as long time musical director and lead guitarist for Stevie Nicks.

New York, NY – April 2022 – The esteemed supergroup, The Immediate Family will release their new EP Live from Telefunken Soundstage on May 13 via Quarto Valley Records. The six-song live recording was captured at Telefunken’s Connecticut headquarters in November of 2021 during a stop in the group’s recent nationwide tour. In conjunction with the release, a rollout of videos will premiere on Telefunken’s YouTube “Live from the Lab” series. Live from Telefunken Soundstage will be available via all digital platforms.

October 26, 2021 - Supergroup, The Immediate Family, has a full schedule this fall/winter with bandmates Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and Leland Sklar's participation in the documentary Carole King & James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name, premiering on CNN & HBO Max and also performing with Carole King at her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on October 30th. The band then heads out on their national tour in support of their new album The Immediate Family, released on Quarto Valley Records.

The Immediate Family is a supergroup in the truest sense. What happens when five of the very best musicians in the world — among them they have backed up everyone from James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, and Jackson Browne, among many others — get together in the studio? You may not recognize the band name, the Immediate Family, but if you’ve spent any time perusing liner notes of scores of classic albums from such performers as James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King and Jackson Browne, just to name a few, you’re certainly familiar with their work. The musicians in the band are some of the most recorded, respected and sought-after players in modern music.

The Immediate Family (the modern iteration of a legendary studio ensemble known as “The Section”) is a rock and roll band composed of four of the most recorded, respected, and sought-after players in modern music: Danny Kortchmar (guitar and vocals), Waddy Wachtel (guitar and vocals), Leland Sklar (bass), Russ Kunkel (drums) and the addition of prominent touring, session guitarist and songwriter Steve Postell (guitar and vocals). Frequent collaborators both in the studio and on-stage, their work can be heard on albums from Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Warren Zevon, Graham Nash, Neil Young, David Crosby, and many, many, many more. Kortchmar, Sklar, and Kunkel have worked together since the early 70s and made up three-quarters of The Section, best known for both their studio and live work in support of some of the top-selling singer/songwriters and solo singers in the history of music, as well as their own acclaimed instrumental albums. (By the mid-70s, they were later joined by Wachtel). Collectively, these musicians helped define the sound of a generation.

June 29, 2021 – The Immediate Family will be releasing their highly anticipated full-length, self-titled album on August 27th via Quarto Valley Records. Produced by the

band, the new album features twelve original songs plus two bonus tracks: live versions of the Danny Kortchmar/Jackson Browne collaboration “Somebody’s Baby” and Warren Zevon’s “Johnny Strikes Up the Band.” The first single/video, “Fair Warning,” willbe released in July.

One of the most triumphant musical creations to be released this year thus far is the EP “You Can’t Stop Progress” by supergroup The Immediate Family via Quarto Records. On Friday May 14, 2021 the faction is releasing the single and video “3:45 Comin’ Through”, an energetic fusion of funk, soul and rock cool enough to be capable of rearranging one’s circadian rhythm‘s and spirited enough to create an uprising of the collective effervescence.

Legendary session band The Immediate Family drops its sophomore EP You Can’t Stop Progress on Friday, April 23, 2021 via Quarto Valley Records. Made up of all-star players Danny Kortchmar (guitar and vocals), Waddy Wachtel (guitar and vocals), Leland Sklar (bass), Russ Kunkel (drums) and Steve Postell (guitar and vocals), the group is a top-flight rock and roll outfit in the classic sense that gets under the hood of their original songs as a cohesive unit. Speaking of songs, we only get five of them on this new set but each one is fresh, ready, and a gem.

After several successful panels at NAMM’s Believe in Music week, Steve Postell and Danny Kortchmar went straight to work in the studio putting some finishing touches on a new recording of a Waddy Wachtel tune – all while adhering to Covid social distancing guidelines.

On Jan. 18-22, the 2021 NAMM Believe in Music Week will take place online. It’s the virtual edition of the annual Winter NAMM Show, the international music trade show that ordinarily takes place in-person at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. There’s a plethora of activities, vendors, brands, and musical acts participating in the event, including special educational sessions featuring rock and roll supergroup The Immediate Family.
